I forgot she has cancer.

(Written by Becky)

Just a quick hello from camp. We are having a great time… such a great time that I stopped short in my tracks today and remembered that Mom has cancer. I had truly forgotten – and that was a nice thing for a few days.

She’s looking better and better each day. The rest and fresh air are doing her good. She’s regaining her energy and has had NO side effects from the last round of chemo.

Dad’s foot is the same… still quite swollen and he’s anticipating surgery next Thursday which will set him back in the pain department. For now, he’s managing with his crutches and is milking it with all of us serving him! :)

We’ve had a few great visits from loved ones and had lots of time to do absolutely nothing. We’ve rested, read books, played games, tubed on the boat, fished and ate lots. We’ve had the amazing blessing of sharing this week with Dad’s bother Jay and his family who have been instrumental in this vacation being so successful. With Mom and Dad both needing a great deal of rest with their feet up, it’s been a huge blessing to have them here with us.

We enjoyed fireworks for the 4th and had many of the Richmond’s here today to celebrate Gram and Gramp’s 62nd anniversary. It’s been VERY relaxing and fun… lots of laughs and lots of memories.

Ok… back to the the campfire… will update more when we get home.

More S’MORES, please!

Great pictures and great news! So good to see all of your smiling faces! Enjoy the rest of your vacation Richmond family! {{HUGS}}

HI, Richmonds! We all rejoice with you.. what a glorious gift from Father!
From the moment I woke up this am, my soul has been singing the verse/hymn for all of us, with you:
“My soul follows hard after Thee,
Early in the morning will I wake up and seek Thee,
And because Thou hast been my help,
Under the shadow of Thy wings,
I will rejoice!
Hallelujah! Know how dearly you are loved! In Him, Steve and Karen

Excellent! I am praying that his is the beginning of “many” good and prosperous days. The Lord is faithful to turn your mourning into Joy.
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Psalm 30:4-6

Hey it’s a GREAT thing to forget about cancer….would have done Peter a lot of good to forget about looking down when he was walking on water to Jesus!! Keep your eyes on him Richmond family…Praise him for what he has already done! I pray you can drop any and all self-centered thinking and enjoy his good works. It’s funny when this happens here…(and we get as self centered as can be at times) great things keep flowing in, answers to future prayers that we never even made.
I praise him for this time you have together…Thank you for sharing the pictures. Love you guys!

Looks like you guys are enjoying a great vacation. Nice pictures, too! Keeping you in my prayers.
