Update from Chris
I’m out of the hospital back at the Health Institute…these folks have been WONDERFUL. I spent 3 nights in the hospital and didn’t have to go off my raw food/wheatgrass/detox diet – they brought my food to me! How I praise God, I didn’t want to eat the hospital “dead” food and the toxic tap water. (I’m really learning alot!)
What the enemy may have meant for harm, to defeat an discourage me, God used for good. I had a few very special visits from some local YFC friends but, for the most part, I had a very long “divine appointment with Jesus.” I had my Bible, my iPod with praise music, and instructions from the doctor to say in bed and keep my leg flat…(could use the bathroom and shower). I had phone calls with loved ones, but for the most part, many precious hours in prayer and worship. I thank God for this time. “He MAKETH me to lie down…He restoreth my soul.”
I’m extending my stay until next Sunday, as I have an appointment with the doctor later this week and he will clear me to fly. With a blood clot, they have to make sure the cumadin (sp?) level in my blood is where it should be to prevent any new clots. The doctor felt that a short flight home (2 hrs) was better than the long car ride. Also, I can get back home quickly to my strict diet I’m on.
I will be in contact with local doctors this week, regarding follow-up for this blood clot, and then the next steps for ongoing treatment. Prayer request is that our insurance company will quickly approve the new drug they want to give me that has much better results for my type of cancer (have been told it could take up to a month for approval).
However, other that my leg and having to keep off it, I am feeling really good. If you have a chance, google “wheatgrass” and study the amazing health benefits. I believe as I build up my immune system, my body was designed by my Creator to heal itself, and the healing process has already begun.
Thank you everyone for all your prayers and words of encouragement. I believe The GREAT PHYSICIAN is healing me and TO GOD BE THE GLORY.
I KNOW that my REDEEMER lives…and I KNOW that HE loves me so much. My life is in HIS hands. I run to Him and He is my strong tower.
I love you all and am so blessed to have so many prayer warriors. Together we will see the Goodness of God as His miracle of healing is unfolding.
Love, Chris

Dear Chris, What wonderful news all around.. God has turned things around so the devil’s plans are thwarted.. Yay! We love it when God does that! And He who started a good work in you will see it to completion…That’s what we are all excited and thankful for! We know God is hearing and answering the prayers of His people, and that you are working very hard to hear and follow Him, and the doors He opens for you.. you and John are walking such a tight roe of faith right now, but we are thankful you don’t have to walk it alone. You are both loved very much and enfolded up by brothers and sisters in the same journey of faith with you. What a privilege, and the Lord is teaching all of us so much. I pray you can feel His arms around you holding you tenderly, as He breathes cleansing, healing life into you! Shalom! Karen and Steve

So glad to hear of your progress. God is by your side and is guiding and protecting you as you walk is His goodness and light. You are such a wonderful example of one who puts her total faith and trust in Him alone. May His peace and comfort rest upon you and give you strength and courage for the journey that you are on. I love you and hope to see you in the near future.

Hi Richmond family. I am a friend of Rebecca and Keith, and although I haven’t met all of you, you have all been an inspiration to me.
Do you realize what a beacon of light your family unity is in this crisis? The deep love and commitment that each of you show the others is so evident as you keep us up to date with your journey. You work so well as a team, with each of you giving whatever resources and abilities you have to alleviate a nightmare situation. There is an awareness that any of you would drop what you’re doing to help the others. In this world where the sad abundance of dysfunctional family units starts to affect what we see as ‘normal’, your family provides a demonstration to me of the ground-breaking, hope-strengthening power of a loving and unified family, especially in difficult times.
And yet this beautiful family unit of yours is not exclusive. I love the way you value other people who join you along the way. You are not afraid to ask for help, and I believe in this fight against cancer you are making many people feel valued and needed, including me, whom you hardly know! Ironic, since one would think that affirmation would be absorbed inwards toward your family in need at this time, but instead, somehow your family reflects it outwards in the midst of your own pain.
There is something bigger than us at work here. The love, the unity, the care, the affirmation, the companionship, the sharing, the sacrifice – God has made you, Richmond family, bigger than the sum of your individual parts. Chris, your steadfast faith and soul songs to our Father in heaven build my faith further. I know that if ever crisis strikes my family, I will call to mind the Richmond family example as a place from which to step out. For that I thank you.
Be blessed, and know that I continue to stand with you, with eyes on an unshaken Jesus, in this foreign place.

Hi Chris – We are standing with you. I’m looking forward to SEEING you in person and hearing about all that you have been learning at the retreat. You are an encouragement to all who know you. Praying that God will continue to heal you and John. Love, Barb
